Work and planning are not different words in my point of view. Every website I do is always pre-planned. The first step is, conversate with the client and then do study, study and study.
This step would be very helpful when I am designing a website. I always prefer clients requirement but at the same time I suggest some ideas which helps business or service growth and meaningful from designer point of view.
SEO (search engine optimization) is a parallel work with design. Every website with SEO could have better chance to have upper ranking on search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.
Generally, people never go beyond the second third page of any search engine. if SEO work had done for a website, it will increase the chance to flash on first page.
